Analysis

Head-to-head record 1:0

The Polish youngster Urszula Radwanska will play Slovakian Magdalena Rybarikova in the first round at Tokyo. Urszula is an all-court player who hits consistently on both the forehand and the backhand sides. Her favorite shot is her backhand down-the-line. She is also very accurate with the drop shot and lob. She lacks much of the "power plays", thus she relies on tactical accuracy and patience on constructing the point before hitting a winner. She is a talented player and has a solid season this year with the biggest victory over her more famous sister in February 2009. Radwanska played well in qualifiers where she easily defeated both Ferguson and Rodionova. We think that she deserves to be at least not a big dog against Rybarikova who is the player of same potential. Slovakian is a very talented player and we still believe she will enter to the world of big tennis. She is 27-20 this year and she won grass tournament in Birmingham. Last week, she was eliminated by Medina Garrigues in the third round at Seoul. Magdalena loves fast surfaces and she played in a solid shape but we just don’t think she deserves to be such a big favourite against Polish qualifier. Anything above 2.5 is good enough for us.
