This could be a tricky match since the odds on Spanish qualifier are far from being fair. To be honest, we were looking forward to the odds above 2.0 in this case and the value of these odds is questionable. On the other hand, we were prepared to back 10 points on Hernandez because we think that he simply cannot lose this match. He has been playing in a very good shape when destroying both A.Martin and Kunitsyn in qualifiers. He is also much better clay courter than his Aussie opponent. His style of play is suited to clay and we have already said a lot about his speed, movement and pretty good baseline play. Hewitt is one of the most talented tennis player ever born. But prefers hard courts and moreover, he has sidelined tennis when he got married. No wonder he doesn´t want to travel around the world and this is gonna be his first match on European clay this year. We think he is not fully concentrated on tennis and we expect him to retire from the professinal tennis sooner or later. Maybe it is too premature statement and we hope he will surprise us because it would be the big loss for the world of tennis. Anyway, he shoudn´t be prepared for the clay season as well as Hernandez is and the lack of match practise is likely to come to light today. We must admit that Hewitt is much better player than his opponent, but he is still not the favourite of this match. The Spanish clay courter is our pick from the first round in Rome.
