| Analysis | Head-to-head record 0:2 We have already said that Mardy Fish plays some of the best tennis in his career. He is a hardcourt specialist who uses his strong serve and powerful backhand to win points from the baseline. He would often move around the court and find his way to the net to put away a ball by volleying. He plays well but he will now face Richard Gasquet of France, the man he has never defeated before. Gasquet is a better player in our eyes. He is one of the biggest talents of the world of tennis but has never fulfilled his potential. He is praised for his powerful and precise one-handed backhand and for his flair and shot-making ability. As we said, he has earned much praise for his "natural talent." He often has difficulties when playing against claycourters as he lacks speed and doesn´t like to play the long rallies but this shouldn’t be the case today. Gasquet seems to be back on the track after a few weak tournaments and if he plays the way he did against Youzhny and Berrer, he should have a chance today. Anything above 2.1 is worth taking for us. |
