| Analysis | Head-to-head record 1:1 Croatian giant Ivo Karlovic will face German Phillip Petzschner in the first round at Delray. Karlovic is often criticized for the lack of variety and poor movement. His primary strategy is serve-and-volley, and he is considered one of the best servers on tour. His height enables him to consistently serve with high speed and unique trajectory. This style of play is suitable for fast surfaces, particularly grass. His matches are often tight and we expect a very close match here again. Some breakers are very likely to be played as it is enormously difficult to break Karlovic´s serve and at the same time, his receiving skills are limited though. He is coming off some solid indoor run but the surface here in Delray should be slower which is something he definitely won´t appreciate. He will play German bomber Philipp Petzschner whose latest hard court results weren´t convincing. He has however gained some confidence last week in Memphis and should be well prepared for this one. We expect a tight match and anything around 2.5 is worth taking for us. |
