| Analysis | Head-to-head record 0:0 The Russian young gun Ksenia Pervak will play Belarusian Olga Govortsova in the opening Kremlin round. Pervak is a very talended player with wide scale of weapons. She is just 18 years old but her YTD record of 41-12 is breath-taking. In 2009, Pervak won the Australian Open Juniors tournament. Well, she hasn’t defeated the big names yet but her time is very likely to come soon. She has a versatile, all-court playing style and can hit all the shots to a pretty high level of technical proficiency. Govortsova is higher ranked but very inconsistent player who can be beaten by anyone. Olga is an offensive baseliner. Her game relies heavily on the power, depth and placement of her forehand strokes, producing lots of winners through penetrating, flat shots, with the occasional spice of topspin. She has a huge but inconsistent serve and the mental condition is probably her weakest point. This could be a tight match but we think that Pervak will be pushed by the home crowd and can make it into the second round. Anything above 2 is fine for us. |
