| Analysis | Head-to-head record 0:0 Slovenian qualifier Polona Hercog will face experienced Frenchwoman Stephanie Cohen Aloro. 18-years old Slovenian girl is considered to be a big tennis talent. She is still relatively low positioned at WTA ranking but her recent results show her ability and ambitions. Her 2008 season was impressive (37 wins-16 losses) and even when she hasn’t played many famous opponents yet, her confidence must be sky high. Even her YTD record is positive (6 wins-3 losses) and we think there is a bright future ahead of her. This year she has beaten the likes of Gallovits and Salerni and we were pretty impressed by her happy-go-luckiness and confidence. She is definitely able to crack into top 100 soon. Of course, she still needs to improve the power but this is something that should automatically come while she is getting older. Her highest singles ranking yet has been World Number 204, which she achieved in July, 2008. The Slovenian is still competing in junior competition. Hercog has not won a title on the WTA Tour, but she has been able to earn four singles titles and four doubles titles on the ITF Circuit. Her opponent will be experienced French player Stephanie Cohen Aloro. She has never reached more than mediocre results and her highest ranking singles position was 61 but it was back in 2003. Cohen Aloro has not got many weapons in her play and we believe that young Slovenian has her chance today. Odds around 2 are worth trying here. |
