| Analysis | Head-to-head record 1:0 It is clear that Robredo is not at his best. He played two solid matches in Indian Wells (win over Kunitsyn a Cilic) but then he retired to Murray 2:6,0:3. Robredo considers his forehand to be his best shot and red clay is his favorite surface. He is a defensive baseline counterpuncher. He typically likes to stay back towards the baseline during a rally and will usually approach the net only to catch a short reply or drop shot from his opponent. At his best times, he played well on hard courts as well but we wouldn’t rate him among the world class hardcourters at the moment. His opponent will be Jan Hernych of Czech Republic. He is currently 61st in the ATP rankings. Hernych hasn’t got impresive results so far this year but on the other side we must look at her recent opponents – he lost to Djokovic in Marseille and Dubai, then he lost to Tsonga in Davis Cup and to Hewitt at Indian Wells. Odds above 3 are surely worth considering here. |
