| Analysis | Head-to-head record 3:4 Very interesting final comes up in Indian Wells. Russian player Vera Zvonareva will face Serbian beauty Ana Ivanovic (defending champion here in California). Vera Zvonareva has had an excellent season so far winning one WTA tour title (in Pattaya City) and having superb YTD record of 12-2 (she lost to Safina in Autralian Open and to Razzano in Dubai). She is in very good shape here in Indian Wells – she defeated Chan (6:2,6:2), Kvitova (6:3,6:1), Li (6:4,6:4), Wozniacki (6:4,6:2) and her double partner Azarenka (6:3,6:3). Ivanovic hasn’t had an excellent season so far – she lost to Mauresmo in Brisbane, to Kleybanova at Australian Open and to Serena Williams in Dubai. We think that her movement isn’t so fantastic as in 2008 and she isn’t hitting the balls very hard. We belive Zvonareva has a big chance to win the final and that is why we recommend this pick even if the odds aren´t great. |
