| Analysis | Head-to-head record 0:0 Argentine Jose Acasuso will play Matthias Bachinger in the first round at Stockholm tournament. Like many of his fellow countrymen, Acasuso favours clay. He is known for his strong serve and his hard groundstrokes off both sides but he is also known for his inconsistency. His game is characterized by a combination of consistent rallying and aggressive baseline points. He is a natural left handed player. Acasuso is adept at using the 'angles' of the court to exploit slower opponents, and is able to mix the pace of his groundstrokes during a point. The major weaknesses in his game are his second serve, and occasional inconsistency. He will face German qualifier in the first round. On September 8, 2008, Bachinger reached his career high singles ranking: World Number 167. His biggest ATP level success is reaching the second round of the Munich tournament, where Bachinger created a stir when he won the first set over Marcos Baghdatis, who was ranked 19 at the time, in a tiebreaker, 9 points to 7. Bachinger went on to lose the match 7–6 (7), 2–6, 4–6. He played mainly challengers since then but showed some solid performance in Stockholm qualifiers and we think that huge odds are worth trying for a small stake. |
