| Analysis | Head-to-head record 0:0 American qualifier Brendan Evans will face Roko Karanusic of Croatia in the first round at Beijing tournament. Roko Karanusic started this season in a solid way (he won the tournament in Belgrade) but the clay tournaments put him back to ground. His grass court season wasn‘t better though and his current form is not breath taking. Last week, he defeated Thiago Alves in Davis Cup match after the big fight (7-6,4-6,7-6) but we think that young American will be much harder nut to crack. Brendan Evans is a tall player who came through the quallies beating two unknown players but he absolutely dominated in both of these matches. He is an offensive baseliner but he is able to adopt the serve-and-volley style as well. He has a great serve and if he manages to keep on improving, he has a decent chance to get into the top 100 soon. He also performed well on challengers within the last weeks and we think he will be competitive today. We see 50:50 chances on both sides and odds above 2 are worth taking for us. |
