| Analysis | Head-to-head record 0:0 Natalie Grandin, South African qualifier will face Italian Sara Errani in the first round of Bali event. Natalie Grandin competes primarily in doubles and her current singles form has been poor lately. Grandin has yet to compete outside of the qualifying rounds of a Grand Slam. She is known for her variety of play, and strong volleying ability. Her preferred surface is hard and even if her YTD record of 13-13 is poor, she easily defeated Senoglu in qualifiers which should have boosted her self-confidence a bit. We are aware of her poor results this year but we still don’t think she should be such a big underdog against Sara Errani who is not a world beater either. On August 25, 2008 Errani reached a new career high of No. 39 on the Tour rankings. She has 2 WTA and 2 ITF Titles. Her first WTA title of her career was one in Internazionali Femminili di Palermo, where she defeated Maria Korettseyva in the final. On July 27 Errani captured her second career title in two weeks defeating Anabel Medina Garrigues. However, she prefers clay and reached her career-best results on slow surface. We must admit that Italian is a big favourite in this clash but simply don’t think that Grandin´s odds should be above 5. We recommend the lowest possible stake here. |
