Analysis

Head-to-head record 1:0

May be a crazy pick for the first sight but we will go against the World number one in this one. To be honest, we wouldn´t be surprised if Nadal won easily in straight sets but the odds are so huge that we have to try Querrey for the lowest possible stake. Nadal have been proving his class all the year long but nobody in unbeatable and German Phau wasn´t far from beating the Spaniard in the first round. Nadal plays with well-angled topspin heavy strokes, a strong two-handed backhand, fast mobility on the court, and a preference to play from the deep court. Though naturally right-handed, Nadal plays left-handed, and uses his dominant right hand as an anchor for his two-handed backhand. In addition, being naturally right handed allows him to stay balanced regardless of which foot he puts his weight on, an exceptional talent when one tries to hit the ball after starting a move in the wrong direction. Known for his excellent defense, Nadal hits well on the run and creates many winners from seemingly defensive positions. Because of his extreme athleticism, Nadal tends to go after every shot, even apparent winners from his opponents. This is probably his biggest weapon together with his 100% concentration on each and every ball regardless of the score. Sam Querrey is a typical American bomber. His height allows him to play with a huge serve and forehand. Querrey holds the record for most consecutive services aces served since the ATP began keeping records of those statistics, with eight in a row. He has been simply excellent at US Open so far and especially his first round appearance against Tomas Berdych of Czech Republic. Querrey made him produce huge number on unforced errors and was unbreakable at his own serve. If he keeps on serving his best, he could be able to keep it close with Nadal and everything can happen if American manages to get the match into tiebreakers.
