| Analysis | Head-to-head record 1:1 Katarina Srebotnik of Slovenia will meet Russian lady Svetlana Kuznetsova in third round of US Open tournament. Kuznetsova is an experienced player with pretty good serve and strong all-court game. She has an excellent YTD record of 31-13 and she started to play at her highest level after the constrained beginning of the season. Even when her current results are impressive, she hasn’t avoided some staggers lately – she was struggling against Larcher de Brito in Montreal (Svetlana won 7:5,2:6,6:4) and she lost to Na Li (6:7,4:6) in Beijing Olympics tournament. Slovenian no. 1 has been playing in a really good shape this year – she is 36-18 in 2008, she beated Petrova (in Dubai) or Serena Williams (French Open). We know Russian player is a favourite but odds around 4.25 are worth taking for us as we don’t think Slovenian lady is as big underdog as odds say. |
