John Isner became a star and the biggest American hope from day to day. We have already unsuccessfully advised on him (against Karlovic) but we will try bet against him today. We must admit that he has probably the very bright future in front of him as his serve is and will be unbreakable especially on fast surfaces. His style of play is very similar to guys such as Karlovic, Rusedski or Philippoussis – it is all about killing serve while his movement, technique and baseline play aren´t even mediocre. This is something he should be worried about on clay but not on the US hard courts. On the other hand, he is still inexperienced and usually has big troubles when playing against good returners. His opponent will be Andreas Beck of Germany who cannot be rated as a world class returner though but he came through the qualifiers and has already won 3 matches in New York (he won over Dorsch, Levy and Ascione). He seems to be in a pretty good shape and his odds above 2.7 don’t reflect the reality in our eyes and are highly influenced by the boom made around Isner lately. We will try a small stake on Andreas.
