| Analysis | Head-to-head record 1:0 Brendan Evans will face Paul Capdeville for the second time this year. Paul Capdeville won the first match at Indian Wells in 3 sets but has been struggling since that time. With the YTD record of 4-11, Capdeville´s season is far behind the expectations. He hasn´t been performing well on both clay and grass. On grass, he was eliminated in the first round at Surbiton Challenger and then he failed at Wimbledon qualifiers. Even if he is untypical South-American player who is competitive outside the clay as well, his self confidence and current form don’t indicate he should be a favourite for the match against home qualifier. Brendan Evans is a tall player who came through the quallies beating J.Thomas and Mcclune. He is an offensive baseliner but he is able to adopt the serve-and-volley style as well. He has a great serve and if he manages to keep on improving, he has a decent chance to get into the top 100 soon. He also performed well on challengers within the last weeks and we think he will be competitive today. We see 50:50 chances on both sides and odds above 2 are worth taking for us. |
