| Analysis | Head-to-head record 1:0 Juan Martin Del Potro will play Stanislas Wawrinka in the second round at Wimbledon. Del Potro is 195 cm tall, unusual for an Argentine player, Del Potro's favorite surface is hardcourt, not clay. He performs well on fast surfaces and even if his YTD record is not impressive at all, he looked solid last week in Nottingham. He has made it to the semi finals of Adelaide this year and the quarter finals of Nottingham where he was eliminated by David Ferrer having the bad luck in the first set breaker. He confirmed the good form in the first round defeating easily the Czech qualifier Pavel Snobel. His opponent will be Stanislas Wawrinka who is having the career-best season and cracked into the Top 10 for the first time this year. He played well on both hard courts and clay but grass has never been his favourite surface and he lacks match practice on this surface. His first round opponent Marcos Daniel was easy nut to crack but harder times for him are likely to come in the second round. Swiss player is a slight favourite but Del Potro´s odds around 2.3 can be taken. |
