| Analysis | Head-to-head record 3:0 Marin Cilic of Croatia will face P-H Mathieu for the fourth time this year in Nottingham. Mathieu is 3-0 up (including last week´s clash on grass) but all 3 matches were really close. Cilic should feel well within these conditions and we believe he can keep the match close again. Cilic plays an all-court game and is able to adapt his game to all surfaces, making him a difficult player to play regardless of the surface. Cilic also has a good serve and is capable of producing many aces in a match. On grass and faster surfaces he serves and volleys but on slower courts he is more than able to rally from the back of the court. His opponent, Paul Henri Mathieu of France is known for being able to hit heavy groundstrokes from both wings and his topspin forehand is probably his biggest weapon. He is a relatively popular and well-liked player despite his inconsistent career results. His favourite surfaces are clay and hard. Mainly thanks to his inconsistency, we see a slight value on Cilic´s side. We expect this match to be a tight battle that could be decided in 3 sets again. Anything above 2.0 can be taken here. |
