| Analysis | Head-to-head record 1:2 Katarina Srebotnik will play Swiss veteran Patty Schnyder on Sunday. We will go with Srebotnik this time as her current form is seems to be much better. Schnyder has been struggling this year so far and her YTD record of 15-12 is far from leveling her best years. She began 2008 by beating Amelie Mauresmo in the quarterfinals in Gold Coast before losing to Li Na in the semifinals. At the Australian Open, she lost in the second round to Australian Casey Dellacqua. She then lost in the second round of the Proximus Diamond Games to eventual finalist Karin Knapp, losing in a final set tiebreak. She entered the Qatar Total Open and after beating Paszek, she lost to Slovakia's Dominika Cibulkova in the second round. She continued in unimpressive performances on clay courts as well and we don´t think she will be competitive on Sunday. Her Roland Garros appearances haven´t been impressive so far and in-form playing Katarina Srebotnik should be too high hurdle for experienced Swiss. Srebotnik is having one of her best seasons fo far and especially her clay court record is worth mentioning. She eliminated younger Williams sister last round and she will be full of confidence for her next clash. She is an excellent baseliner and has always been dangerous on slow court. We think she should be a big favourite against shapeless Schnyder and odds above 1.6 are good enough for us. |
