Analysis

Head-to-head record 2:0

Llodra and Patience, two French players will face one another in the first round at Roland Garros. Michael Llodra has better ranking and better YTD results than his fellow countryman but we would say that his current clay form is really poor. Patience is more suited to the conditions here and he prefers dirt. He plays mainly on Challenger circuit but has been pretty competitive on clay over the last few weeks. He is a defensive baseliner who excels on slow courts. He is a fighter, and has willingness to chase down every ball to frustrate opponents. Patience has consistent shots, makes few errors of his own while making it difficult for opponents to hit winners. Llodra is, on the other hand, aggressive baseliner who likes to play on fast surfaces. He has reached his best career results on fast indoor courts and has never been really competitive on dirt. He tries to win the point by hitting winners from the back of the court, attacking with fast balls that the opponent cannot reach or return properly. He great forehand and solid serve but we can´t see him to be such a big favourite on this surface. His YTD clay court record is 1-3 and we think that his opponent has a solid chance to succeed today. Anything above 2.2 is worth taking for us.
