Analysis

Head-to-head record 1:0

Andreas Seppi of Italia will play Argentinean veteran Augustin Calleri today. Seppi is very talented player who remains far behind expectations this year. Seppi won his first Challenger title at Bergamo where he defeated Julien Benneteau in the final. He made the quarter finals of the indoor event in Rotterdam where he defeated Lleyton Hewitt in the process saving a match point. Then he scored his biggest win over current world number 2 Rafael Nadal, before losing to Robin Söderling. He has played only on hard courts this year so far and his other results aren´t worth mentioning. But he is a player of big potential in our eyes and we think his time must come sooner or later. Seppi is a versitile player who is competitive on all surfaces and he should feel comfortable within these conditions. His opponent will be experienced Calleri whose best years are already far behind him. He was a solid claycourter and his YTD record is surprisingly not bad but we don´t know why is he considered to be such a big favourite in this clash. He is a lower-ranked player than his oponent and achieved many victories mainly thanks to friendly draw this year. We expected the odds to be 50:50 and must go with Seppi at this price.
