| Analysis | Head-to-head record 0:0 The young Italian qualifier Gianluca Naso will face experienced Frenchman Florent Serra in the first round of Estoril Open. Naso is a young player who has spent most of his career on challengers so far but he has a decent potential to become top100 player. He plays a defensive counter-punching game from the baseline, and utilises his retrieving skills in order to frustrate opponents. He often uses a two-handed backhand and his favourite surface is clay. He should feel well here on Portugal´s dirt and already showed some solid performances in qualifiers. He advanced pretty easily not dropping a single set and his self confidence should be high enough to keep on playing his best tennis. He will face Florent Serra of France whose best years already passed. He dropped out of top100 and his latest results are poor enough to say that his confidence must be bottom down. He is a hard worker who never gives up but his results are just too inconsistent for us. We admit that he should be a favourite against inexperienced Naso but the current prices are too high on the side of young Italian. Anything above 3 can be tried for a small stake. |
