Analysis

Head-to-head record 0:1

This is a very similar match to the second today´s pick. Boris Pashanski, the lower-ranked clayourter will play French heavy hitter, Marc Gicquel. Gicquel disposes of a great serve and prefers fast surfaces. He is involved in a notably high number of tiebreaks. This is because his serve is so hard to break and because, like many players of his build and serve-dominated game, Gicquel isn't the strongest returner in the game (meaning he breaks his opponents' serve less than perhaps other players). He doesn´t like to play the long rallies from the baseline but this is something he will probably need on the slow clay in Estoril. On the contrary, his opponent prefers clay as his biggest weapons are technique, solid baseline play and the movement. His shots sometimes lack the power but he still can be competitive within these conditions. We think that anything above 2 cn be taken here.
