| Analysis | Head-to-head record 0:0 Augustin Calleri of Argentine comes back on hard courts in Miami and he will play South African qualifier Kevin Anderson. Anderson began 2008 with a bit of success, reaching the quarters of the Challenger in New Caledonia before qualifying in his first Grand Slam attempt in Australia. He lost in the main draw first round to Alejandro Falla in 5 sets. At the Tennis Channel Open in Las Vegas, as a qualifier, he managed to defeat Michael Llodra, US giant John Isner, Evgeny Korolev and Robby Ginerpi all in straight sets. In the final, he fell to Sam Querrey in 3 sets. Anderson enjoys playing on fast surface as he possesses big serve and is an offensive minded player. He should be able to keep his serves and the match will probably be very tight. His opponent will be Argentine veteran who prefers clay. He is much better in long rallies from the baseline but if Anderson keeps the high percentage of his first serve, it should be about the serve and volley hits rather than about long rallies from the baseline. Calleri lacks the match practice on hard courts and currently plays in a worse shape than his opponent so we think that Anderson should be the big favourite in this match. |
