| Analysis | Head-to-head record 0:0 May be a surprising pick from us as we have praised Feliciano Lopez several times and back against Donald Young in the first round. But the reason is simple – we are still convinced that Lopez is a better and more complex player but Young´s odds shouldn’t be so long. As we said earlier, Young has been facing much press as he was considered to be the next great US male tennis player after his success on the junior circuit. But he struggled in his first years on the pro tour. He has had a dismal start on the ATP level and his handlers were criticized for pushing him too fast. This year has been better for him and he impressed us in the first round at 2008 Indian Wells defeating Reynolds easily. Feliciano Lopez is not a typical Spaniard as his play is based on power rather than movement. He had an excellent run last week in Dubai but conditions here are a bit different and we don’t think he should be such a big favourite. Young will play in front of his home crowd and we think he can keep it close today. Odds above 2.5 are worth trying for the small stake. |
