| Analysis | Head-to-head record 1:1 Probably not surprising pick for anyone. Robbie Ginepri is one of our favourite guys and we always like to watch him playing. He seems to be playing in excellent shape and this year could be the stellar comeback for him. He feels well on slower hard courts in California and we hope to see him playing in further stages of this tournament. He is definitely able to get among the top 50 before the clay season probably breaks off his excellent run. He looked well in Las Vegas last week defeating Baghdatis, Malisse and Gulbis before falling to Anderson in semis. He already advanced from the first round here in Indian Wells by demolishing his fellow country-man Vincent Spadea. His opponent will be Carlos Moya of Spain. It would probably be a wasting of time to praise Moya´s skills and experience. We still consider him to be one of the greatest players of the last decade but we don’t think he is currently playing his best. His hard courts results from the beginning of the year were kind of frigid and we don’t think he is able to boost them up at the moment. Furthermore, he lacks match practice on this surface coming back from clay. He is a versatile player with a great fighting spirit but we don’t think he will be able to outplay Ginepri in front of his home crowd. Ginepri should be around 1.6 and odds above this can be taken here. |
