| Analysis | Head-to-head record 0:0 American lucky looser Julie Ditty will face Gisela Dulko of Argentina in another first round match. Dulko is an experienced player who reached her career-high singles ranking of World No. 26 in 2005. Last year was very successful for her - she finally won her first WTA Tour title by defeating Sorana Cirstea of Romania in the final of the Tier III event in Budapest. Later that year, Dulko won her second WTA Tour title at the Forest Hills Tier IV event defeating Virginie Razzano in the final. But her latest results weren´t brilliant and her current form is questionable as she hasn’t played a single match on hard since 2008 Australian Open where she lost 1-6, 1-6 to Wozniacki. She is a typical clay court player who shouldn’t feel best here in Indian Wells. Her opponent will be Julie Ditty of United States. In 2008, she lost in the 1st round at Gold Coast to No.5 seed Peer in 3 sets, fell in Sydney qualifying and lost in 1r at Australian Open to Australian WC Moore. In Ferburary she qualified for the Gaz de France tournament in Paris and lost to No.6 seed and former world number 1 Amelie Mauresmo. Reached the main draw in Antwerp, got to the 2nd round there (as LL), defeated No.8 seed Alona Bondarenko in the 1st round, before falling to qualifier Timea Bacsinszky. Her win over world No.22 Alona Bondarenko was best ever career win. Then she fell 1r at Doha as lucky looser to qualifier Niculescu. She is playing in a solid shape and should be favourite today. Odds at this level are worth trying for us. |
