Analysis

Head-to-head record 0:0

Isner is known for his booming serve which is attributed his extreme height. Commentators are also praising his composure during matches, as displayed during his five consecutive 3rd-set tiebreaker wins in Washington, which were marked by his ability to bring out huge serves when it mattered most. Additionally he is known to back up his huge serves with approaches to the net. On the other hand, huge serve and serve and volley style are the biggest but - at the same time - the only weapon he has. He hasn’t really much to show during the rallies and his technique is at least disputable. This makes him dangerous for each and every player he plays but at the same time, he can easily lose to anyone as he has the lack of opportunities to break the opponent´s serve in each match he plays so his matches are usually very tight and often end up in tiebreakers. His opponent will be young South-African qualifier Kevin Anderson who possesses big serve as well. Moreover, he plays in a very good shape right now and his performance against Llodra wasn’t far from being stellar. We think he will be able to keep his serves and the match will probably be decided in tiebreakers again and that’s why the odds should be close to 2.0. Anything above this is worth taking for us.
