| Analysis | Head-to-head record 0:0 This is not a standard bet for us as we usually prefer to back on underdogs but we will make an exception from the rule this time. Spanish qualifier Suarez Navarro will face US hardcourter, Bethanie Mattek. Suarez Navarro is a pure clay-courter with excellent movement and patient baseline play. She uses extreme topspin on her forehand and slower topspin and slice on her backhand. Suarez is a patient baseliner who wins matches by disrupting her opponents' rhythm through changes of spin, pace, depth, height, and angle. She is still a very young lady with lack of experience but she has a potential to make some good results, especially on clay. Last year, she played first Tour qualifying at Estoril and US Open and won three singles titles and two doubles titles on ITF Circuit. Last week she advanced through the qualifiers in Vina del Mar to be defeated by Del los Rios in the first round. Now, she advanced from the qualifiers again beating Torres Sandoval, Domachowska and Martinez Sanchez all in straight sets. Her opponent will be Bethanie Mattek of United States whose 2008 season has been far behind expectations so far. She hasn’t won a single match this year and having noted the very last loss against Kostanic last week on clay. She doesn’t like clay and shouldn’t be competitive today. We expected Suarez Navarro´s odds to be around 1.4 and odds at this level are worth trying for us. |
