Analysis

This may look as a crazy pick at the first sight but we don´t understand why prices are set up this way. Of course, the Czech Republic is a favourite of this tie but Slovakia´s odds above 4 are huge and worth trying. Czech Republic currently holds a 2-0 lead over Slovakia, the most recent encounter taking place in Bratislava last year when the visitors put in a convincing performance to win 5-0. But it should be a different story this weekend. Both teams will be weakened for this clash – Daniela Hantuchova, the Slovakian no.1 and Australan Open semifinalist has withdrawn from Fed Cup due to the leg injury and Czech Republic will miss Lucie Safarova. The official team nominations are as follows: Czech Republic (Vaidisova, Cetkovska, Peschke, Benesova) and Slovakia (Cibulkova, Rybarikova, Husarova, Kucova). Even when Vaidisova is a bit unstable and inconsistent, she should be able to win both of her matches. But we believe that Cibulkova will fight bravely against the Czech no.1 and makes it close enough – Vaidisova is not a team player and she sometimes get nervous when the match is tight and when playing for her nation. But lets count that Vaidisova will make 2 points for CR. Cibulkova should be able to defeat Cetkovska easily and Rybarikova-Cetkovska could be a tight match (Rybarikova demolished the Czech no.2 last year 6:2,6:0). Czechs are favourites for doubles but odds above 4 are too just high in our eyes. Slovakian odds should be around 3 - 3.5 and this is worth taking for us. We chose Unibet because Pinnacle didn’t release the prices for World Group II but you can find similar odds at some other bookies as well.
