Czech qualifier Lukas Rosol will face Sergio Roitman of Argentina in the first round of Heineken Open. Roitman is an experienced player who turned professional in 1996. Roitman's career high ranking is No. 62 but he has ever been a pure clay-courter. He has no singles titles to date, however he has won several challenger titles in his career. But he struggled to adapt his level from the Futures and Challengers to the ATP main level events and has to date achieved only limited success on the main circuit. As we said, he is a natural born claycourter with excellent movement and patient baseline play. His main weapons are fast mobility on the court, excellent defense, and a preference to play from the deep court. On the other hand, his serve is not considered one of his strengths because of the lack of pace and variety compared to other players. Lukas Rosol is the Czech youngster who lacks experience from playing at this level. But he performed well in qualifiers defeating Niland, Middelkoop and Horna. Especially the last named one is a very similar player to Roitman – in our eyes even better. He played here last year as well and his tight loss to Ancic (3-6,6-7) was his ATP debut. He hasn’t played a single ATP match since this match. Well, he is still inexperienced but this surface should be well tailored to his aggressive play and not even mediocre hardcourter Roitman could be a good player for his re-debut in Auckland. Czech´s odds above 2.1 can be worth taking here.
