| Analysis | Henin is an uncrowned queen of women´s tennis world and it will be very difficult for anyone from the field to defeat her. She has a very aggressive, yet highly versatile, all-court playing style and can hit all the fundamental shots to an extremely high level of technical proficiency. Henin plays with a rare combination of power and finesse that allows for her success on all surfaces. Henin's single-handed backhand, now rare in both men's and women's tennis, is one of the most powerful and accurate in the game. Her slice backhand is one of the best in the world. However, Henin's forehand remains her most dangerous weapon, and the stroke that she normally uses to dictate the play of a match. Along with Serena Williams, Venus Williams and Ana Ivanovic, Henin consistently records the most 'winner heavy' stats. Despite her relatively small size, Henin has an extremely powerful serve, which has been measured at a top speed of 124 mph. Henin's footwork, balance, and court coverage are exceptional and she is adept at changing from a defensive style to an aggressive one. Henin has always had good to exceptional volleying skills, and has used serve-and-volley play with more frequency in recent seasons. Simply set, she is the world number one and she doesn´t really have to care who is she going to play as the only player who can defeat her is she herself. Just to complete the analysis - she will play in the yellow group together with S.Williams, Jankovic and Chakvetadze. If she advances from this group (we suppose she will), she will play two more matches in which her odds will probably be set somewhere around 1.20. In the light of these facts, the outright odds around 1.8 are be worth taking here. |
