Analysis

We will aim on French Metz even today.

It will be pick on semifinal match between home Nicolas Mahut and Tommy Robredo from Spain. We wrote much about Nicolas yesterday during his match with Andreev.

Nicolas is a very dangerous player especially of rapid surfaces (grass, indoor) as right-handed serve is really strong. He is a good serve and volleyer and which helped him to become the world class doubles player. He has won many tournaments with his country-mate Julien Benneteau but this year he showed some solid performances in singles as well. At Queens, he managed to defeat fifth-seed Croatian Ivan Ljubicic and top-seed Rafa Nadal both in straight sets to reach semis where he beat another Frenchman Arnaud Clement. He lost to Andy Roddick in a very tight match having one match point in the second set tiebreak in his first ATP final. He continued to play well after that tournament with the only one exception - first round loss to Del Potro at Flushing Meadows.

Tommy Robredo belongs to complex Spain players, despite it he preffers to play on clay. He managed to win the tournament in Sopot on it and he got to quarterfinals at French Open (he lost to Federer). His other results are not so convincing, he was able to lost to players such as Gulbis, Nieminen or Hrbaty. And he is not in his form here in Metz also - he was short step from dropping out with German Mayer (he win 2:1 at last), after that he defeated tame Italian Seppi (2:0) and ill-playing Grosjean yesterday.

We think Nicolas is his first serious test and odds over 2.6 has surely its value.
