| Analysis | Head-to-head record 1:1 Katarina Srebotnik of Slovenia will meet Russian-born Frenchy Tatiana Golovin in Portoroz finals. Slovenian no. 1 has been playing in a really great shape ahead of her home crowd so far. Srebotnik won all 4 matches she played in straight sets losing maximum of 3 games in a set. Especially her serving is notable and receiving points percentage of her opponents was around only 30% in all cases. She hasn´t faced a lot of breakpoints in Portoroz so far and we hope she will keep on great serving against Golovin in Finals. Srebotnik´s YTD record looks pretty bad (25-20) but she got the second wind in her home town and we believe she is able to defeat Golovin today. Golovin is a top player who is able to beat anyone in the world when she plays her best but she is a bit unstable and some of her latest results can prove that. She lost to Paszek, Tanasugarn, Asha Rolle and played several tight matches with players she should be able to destroy in straight sets (e.g. Hsieh, Dulko, Kremer). Our final verdict is, that Golovin is a better player with biggest potential, talent and brighter future ahead of her but Srebotnik is currently playing in a better form and we believe she is able to outlast Golovin´s effort today. This is a typical 50:50 match and odds above 2 make us place a bet on Srebotnik. |
