| Analysis | Head-to-head 0:0 17-years old Romanian girl Ioana Raluca Olaru is already a big star in her homeland. She disposes of a big talent without any doubts. She is able to compete on all surfaces and she already played 2 WTA semifinals this year (1 on hard court in Memphis and the second one in Fes on clay). Her year´s balance (36-12) is really good considering that she didn´t afraid of big events and played many qualifying matches instead of being seated at smaller ITF tournaments. Even when she hasn’t been so impressive lately there is a big future ahead of her without questions. She will face unstable German Martina Muller whose year has been a bit frigid so far (with the exception of two consecutive clay tournaments in July where she reached finals in both cases). She prefers clay and her results on this surface aren’t bad but her overall YTD record of 19-25 shows that her performances on all other surfaces are far from being good. She actually achieved only 4 wins on other surfaces. Her shots lack power and we don’t think she is the favourite in the first round of China Open. Olaru´s odds above 1.7 represent value for us in this case. |
