| Analysis | Head-to-head 0:0 We have already recommended betting against Florent Serra several times but this is the first time we will bet on him. Even when we are aware of his poor results in this season, we see him as a big favourite in the first round of US Open. We have already said a lot about his off-season drill. He is a king of big fighter and even when his style of play is suited mainly to slow surfaces, he has been working really hard to improve his fast court skills. His serve is getting better and he now plays with more power which makes him more dangerous on hard surface. Better results must come sooner or later, because he still belongs among the top players. He will face a veteran player Werner Eschauer of Austria in the first round. Eschauer has never been a world-beater and even when he is currently having the best season in his career (at the age of 33), He improved his ranking mainly thanks to successes on clay (mainly at challengers). He plays on clay whenever he can and has never achieved any remarkable results on fast surfaces. We just consider him to be a challenger player and we think he is one class bellow Serra. A friendly draw at US Open is a big opportunity for Serra to break his unlucky streak and odds above 1.5 could be taken in this case. |
