| Analysis | Head-to-head record 1:0 This may seem as the strange pick at the first glance but we will try to explain our reasons to you. We must admit that Benny Becker is currently experiencing a nightmare season having a horrible YTD record of 15-26 and losing 5 of his last 5 matches. In fact, he hasn´t won a single match since June and his losing streak includes also losses to lower-class players such as Dancevic, Isner or Cilic. On the other hand, we should bear in mind that he lost to Isner after the thrilling battle in the third-set tiebreak. Even when his nationality is German, he grew up on US hard courts and that is why he prefers fast surfaces. The same can be said about his opponent, American young gun John Isner. Isner is one of the best serving guys on ATP circuit but the killing serve is his only big weapon. He lacks technique and baseline skills and even when his serve is almost unbreakable, he shouldn´t be able to finish earlier than in 2 or 3 tiebreaks. More experienced German is a slight favourite for us and odds above 2 represent value under these circumstances. |
