| Analysis | Head-to-head record 0:0 Our next pick is on the match between American Michael Russel and Spaniard Nicolas Almagro. Although we mostly find value bets on outsiders, we will make an exception now. Nicolas Almagro´s results are getting better this year - he managed to win the clay tournament in Valencia and played the final on clay in Bastad but he still hasn't playd good matches on hard surface . His balance is 2:6 - he won over Wawrinka (2:1) in Auckland and Starace (2:0) in Miami. Moreover, he stoped succeeding last month even on his favourite clay when lost to Eschauer in Amersfoort, Verdasco in Kitzbuhel and Zabaleta in Sopot. Michael Russel profits from solid serve and great movement and he should be very comfortable with surface in Montreal. He won 3 challenger tournaments early this year - in Noumea, Waikoloa and Joplin. Then he showed a kind of form decrease at tournaments in Europe, but we think it's only a matter of time when Michael get back his form from the beginning of the year (he defeated Whitehouse in Washington last week to be beaten by Tommy Haas of Germany in the second round). Odds are pretty attractive and that is why we will back 4 points on American. |
