| Analysis | Head-to-head record 1:2 Radek Stepanek is a player without the big talent but he has been working enormously hard to get on to the top positions. His biggest weapons are big serve, forehand volleys and pretty good dropshots. He is capable to achieve successes on all surfaces. Stepanek finally recovered from the long-lasting back injury and he is now on his way back to the top 10. According to his own words, he got over the hardest times in his career and he is now fully fit and ready to come back. He is a big fighter and we believe that he will manage to get there. Even if his YTD results weren´t impressive so far, he played well here in qualifiers and in the first round against Cilic. Each and every match is very important for him and for his self-confidence and he seems to be in a good shape at the moment. His opponent will be German Kohlschreiber who has made some great results on clay this year. He won the tournament in Munich and reached quarters in Monte Carlo but his latest results aren´t convincing (including the first round in Gstaad – he defeated Hernych in 2 tiebreaks). We think that the odds are too influenced by Stepanek´s long injury and his absence on ATP circuit. He should be able to beat such player as Kohlscreiber is and he should be the slight favourite in this match. Final result: 5:7,3:6 - wager won |
