| Analysis | Head-to-head record 2:3 As we said yesterday, Tomas Berdych is one of the most talented player on ATP circuit and his tennis future will be bright without any doubts. Unfortunatelly, he proofed our words by destroying Bjorkman today. Well, it is a matter of fact that umpire helped Berdych to beat Bjorkman by several incomprehensible decisions and maddened Bjorkman couldn´t concentrate on his game. If this match was played on some court equipped with eagle eye, the result would probably shape up another way but in despite of this, Berdych was really impressive. His self-confidence is unbelievable and he belives that he can beat anyone which is the most important thing for each and every tennis player. We can repeat everything we wrote in the previous analysis but we should also add that Berdych is becoming a kind of night mare for Rafa. Young Czech has played Nadal three times on hard courts and won all of these matches pretty easily. Of course, he cannot compete with Nadal on clay but fast surface is a clear advantage for him. He won in Halle with easiness and played all his Wimbledon matches in a great shape as well. Nadal´s main weapon on grass in unbreakable fighting spirit. He is a defennsive-minded player and it is not the secret that his style of play is not suited to grass. We are aware that he played Wimbledon finals last year but is was just a coincidence and the result of friendly draw in our eyes. He still cannot be compared with Federer, Roddick, Hewitt, Berdych, Safin or even Youzhny on grass. He was very lucky by beating both Soderling and Youzhny in London. Soderling was a better player during the whole matchtime and lost probably due to lack of experience with big matches. Youzhny made the match over to Nadal and he just defeated himself. Rain delay put him totally out of rythm and he was absolutely shapeless when coming back to courts. We were prepared to back much more points on Berdych because we expected his odds to be above 2.5. Current odds fall short of our expectations but we still think that Berdych is going to win this match. Final result: 7:6,6:4,6:2 - wager lost |
