| Analysis | Head-to-head record 1:0 Janko Tipsarevic, the big Serbian talent, plays in a very good shape at present. He seems to be tireless as he managed to win all three Wimbledon matches in 5 sets. He defeated Peya, Serra and Gonzalez and especially against Gonzo was really impressive. He is an universal player with weapons for all surfaces. His movement can be rated as above average and his serve, ground-strokes and forehend voleys are admirable as well. There should be a free Sunday in London which means he has got a lot of time to lay off after nerve-wracking match against Gonzalez. His opponent will be former number one, Juan Carlos Ferrero from Spain. He is a typical claycourter who had a lot of various problems during the last few years and dropped down in the rankings. He is an exellent defensive player who preffers claycourts and slower hardcourts but has almost no weapons to use on grass. Ferrero was far from being impressive lately - he lost to Carlos Berlocq and defeated both Hajek and Muller in very tight matches. Young Serbian is much better player than these two guys and we expect Ferrero to have enormous troubles in this round. Odds should be at least equal, maybe Tipsarevic is a slight favourite of this clash. Current odds are stronly influenced by Ferrero´s performance against James Blake. But it should be mentioned here that Blake was very inconsistent lately and his self-confidence and mental condition is currently far from being optimal. He has been producing the countless number of unforced errors in almost each and every match he played from February Davis Cup performance in Czech Republic. In this regard it is not surprising that he lost to El Mosquito even if he is much better fast-court player. This result is overvalued by bookies which makes Tipsarevic´s odds worth taking. |
