| Analysis | Head-to-head record 0:0 A Dutch young star Robin Haase will face Frenchy Florent Serra in the first round of Ordina Open. Florent Serra is a very clever player who started playing tennis quite late and despite playing on this level, he managed to finish the studies. He is a typical French player who grew up on claycourts and he consider clay as his favourite surface. Even if he played well in Netherlands last year, we don´t think that he will manage to repeate his semifinal appearance this year. He defeated 2 Spaniards (Ferrero and Robredo) and Rainer Schuettler last year in Rosmalen which is his carrer best result on grass. We heard that he has been working really hard on improving his strenght, power and stamina during the offseason but he wasn´t convincing last week in London (defeated Delic and lost to Ginepri in the second round) and he still cannot be rated as the player for grass courts. His serve is only average and he doesn't play volleys too much. His firts-round opponent will be Robin Haase, the Dutch player with some attributes to play well on grass. He is still inexperienced but he has a strong serve, powerful flat shots from forehand side and he prefers as fast courts as possible. Furthermore, he will have the full support of the home crowd as he is one of the biggest Dutch hopes for this tournament. Serra is probably a slight favourite for this match but odds above 3 are worth betting on home player. Final result: 7:6,4:6,4:6 - wager won |
