We are already looking forward to the exciting semifinal match between most shining Russian Star Maria Sharapova and Serbian prodigy Ana Ivanovic. Ivanovic has had an excellent season so far wining 1 WTA tour title and having superb YTD record of 24-9. Especially her claycourt record is worth mentioning here - 15 wins and only 2 losses. French Open is her most favourite tournament which is something we can´t say about her Russian opponent. The faster surface the better for Sharapova´s agressive style of play. She is hitting the balls very hard but could have enormous problems with Ana´s fantastic movement. Sharapova doesn´t seem to be in a good shape on this tournament and she beat convincinly only Craybas in the second round. Matches against Loit, Kudryavtseva, Schnyder and Chakvetadze were tihgter then they appear when just looking at the final results. She is a big player with strong mental condition and knows how to win the most importamt points but enthusiastic Serbian figher could be out of her stength in semifinals. We belive Ivanovic has a better chance to go through to the final and that is why we recommend this pick.
