| Analysis | Head-to-head record 0:2 Lepchenko advanced through the qualifiers pretty easily which indicates that she could be in a good shape at present and that the green clay in Charleston is suitable for her play. Last week, she was eliminated in the second qualifying round by in-form playing A.Bondarenko after the solid performance. She has beaten several solid players this year and it seems that she is finally showing her potential and gaining some confidence. Her YTD record is 9-9 but 21 years old player from Uzbekistan should manage to go through the first round and to prove that she is the talented youngster with a bright future in front of her. We believe that her best times haven´t come so far. On the other hand, 34 years old Aussie veteran Nicole Pratt has already passed over her best years. Moreover, her claycourt record is far from being even avarage. She is offensive-minded player whose movement and ability to play from a baseline are the biggest weaknesses of her play. H2H record is not saying a lot since both matches were played on the hardcourts which is giving Aussie player the big advantage over Lepchenko. Uzbekistanian seems to be a slight favourite here and we think she should go through even when the odds aren´t impressive. |
