| Analysis | Head-to-head record 4:0 H2H record looks really one-sided but it should be mentioned that 3 of these 4 matches were played on clay courts which are prefered by Spaniard and hated by Czech. The only match played on fast surface was a tight battle and Robredo won 7-5 3-6 7-6(4) 7-6(7). Robredo is a player who made his best results on red clay but still can be considered as the player who can do well on all surfaces excepting grass. Even when he prefer clay, he has relatively fast serve and powerful backhand which are the weapons he can use pretty easily on hard. Stepanek, the former top 10 player, had been deadly out of form after recovering from the back injury in the beginning of the year. But his recent results are improving and it seems he is getting back his lost self-confidence. We think he is on his way back to the top ten and anything above 2.5 are of certain value for us. Odds above 3 are worth taking in our opinion. Moreover, Stepanek has beaten Gaudio and Falla in the previous rounds here in Miami both in straight sets and these players are playing similar tennis to Robredo. This does a 50-50 chance in our eyes. Result: 2:1 - wager lost |
