Analysis

Head-to-head record 1:1

Canadian superstar Milos Raonic will play German Philipp Petzschner in round 2. There is no need to introduce Raonic who had the sensational season last year but still needs to prove he deserves to be such a big favourite against the likes of Petzschner. Raonic has had some injury problems in the second half of last year but he looked fine in Chennai earlier this year. In the first round, he demolished Volandri who is however quite weak on hard courts. Raonic´s game is based on powerful and accurate serve. He says that his favourite shots are the serve and overhead smash and he states that his favourite surfaces to play on are hard courts. He is extremely proficient in all four main types of serves used, the flat, slice, topspin and kick serves. Raonic also has a strong forehand which he prefers to hit inside-out. He will play German Philipp Petzschner who played an excellent match on Monday and gave no chance to Czech Lukas Rosol winning 6-0,6-0,6-2. He also has a great serve and if he keeps the level of play he showed in the first round, he is going to be a tough opponent for Canadian favourite. Anything around 4.0 can be tried here.
